Girls Lacrosse - Peggy Williams

Coach Williams joins the staff with a wealth of playing and coaching experience. She played Lacrosse and Field Hockey at the University of Virginia and was named the 1998 ACC Lacrosse Player of the Year. In more recent years, Williams has been involved in the Charlottesville area girls lacrosse community as an organizer and coach.

Boys Soccer - Michael Nafziger

Coach Nafziger is a former Warriors all-state soccer player who in his senior season captained the Warriors to the State Championship.  He continued his playing career at Swarthmore College where served also as captain. Nafziger has served as the Warriors Boys Soccer assistant coach the past 5 years.

Girls Soccer - Kristie Braunston

Coach Braunston played collegiately at George Mason and Vanderbilt Universities. Her coaching experience includes stints as assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin and Louisiana State University. She has several elite club level coaching experiences as well.

Softball - Eric Keshin

Coach Keshin has 25 years of baseball and softball coaching experience and was involved with the Connecticut Legends (associated with the Virginia Legends) travel softball program.  His efforts helped build a successful program at New Canaan HS (CT). His two daughters played softball at the University of Virginia and one, Rachel, will serve as Warriors assistant coach.

Girls Tennis - Gretchen Rush

Coach Rush played collegiately at Trinity University (TX) where she was a 4-time All-American and D-I NCAA doubles champion. She continues to pay competitively today. She has served as head coach at high school and collegiate level, most recently at Trinity University and Hollins College.

We are very excited to welcome all five new coaches to Western Albemarle. We look forward to working them all to grow programs to new heights while providing positive experiences for our student-athletes.
